The Olympic lifts can be great for a football player or the Tactical Athlete. Proper utilization of the Olympic lifts will allow you to enhance the quality of your performance on the field or in combat.
When planning a training program for your explosive athlete you must consider the following:
*Train the nervous system
*Link all training to performance potential
*Stress the action/reaction principles
These are just a few of the things that need to be addressed in developing or adding the olympic lifts into a training program. Everyone is worried about the time it takes to learn the lifts. If you start your young athletes off right from the start with the O lifts they will develop more power, strength, and explosiveness in the long run of your program.
